North Shore Paediatric Allergy was started in 2012 by Dr John Tan in Artarmon. The clinic has since moved to the heart of Chatswood in Sydney’s North Shore.
We are a multi-disciplinary clinic which aims to provide holistic care for children (0-18 years) with allergic conditions. The centre has been especially designed to provide our children with the best allergy care.
The clinic is easily accessible via car or public transport. We are located next to Chatswood Police Station with the metro and train station a 7-10 minute walk away. Ample parking is available near the clinic (3 hours free parking at Chatswood Chase Shopping Centre is a 2 minute walk from the clinic).
The staff at our clinic are subspecialised in the area of paediatric allergy and immunology (Drs Tan, Hsu, Lai and Lee) and paediatric respiratory and sleep medicine (Dr Pandit) and Paediatric Endocrinology (Dr Cho). Our specialist Paediatric Allergy clinicians have obtained their subspeciality training in Paediatric allergy and immunology at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead (CHW). Drs Tan and Hsu remain active consultants of the Allergy and Immunology Department at CHW.
Many of our clinicians are actively involved in allergy research, have published widely and presented internationally at allergy conferences. They are also active members of the Australasian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy (ASCIA).
Early management of children with allergies is crucial, as avoidance of a wide range of foods can result in a child developing further allergies.
Our Paediatric allergists and immunologists are also able provide expert advice on feeding and formulas for babies with allergies.
Guidance regarding the choice of infant formula or avoidance of particular foods (rather than “blanket elimination diets” is crucial in managing a child’s allergies and preventing further allergies from developing. Our aim is to manage children with allergies based on latest evidence-based research whilst providing a supportive, collaborative and welcoming environment for children and their families.
We understand that managing allergic conditions can affect the whole family, and are committed to empowering parents and patients through education and evidence-based management of allergy, translating allergy research into clinical practice in a safe and practical manner.
